Feb. 9 - Jefferson Davis elected president of the Confederate States of America, Alexander Stephens is selected as vice president
Feb. 10 - South seizes Federal Forts
Feb. 18 - Jefferson Davis inaugurated as president of the Confederacy
Mar. 4 - Lincoln inaugurated as President of the United States
Apr. 12 - Union Fort Sumter is fired upon by the Confederate States of America
